Meet the Person behind the Teacher

Silvia Vega

Language Educator and Owner

Bachelor degree in Spanish and English linguistics with honors (UAB, Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona). MA in Spanish language acquisition as L2 (second language) held by the IC (Instituto Cervantes). In-class and online teacher for many years, a natural researcher seeking to improve the standards of teaching Spanish to foreigners and currently a mother, a wife and a good friend of friends who loves and enjoys live, her job, her family and having a laugh.

The Spanish Gem of Cloud-Coaching

What is Cloud-Coaching?

In Barcelona, one of the most touristic cities in the world, many people come and go all the time but for some of them it raises the desire to embrace the Spanish culture and language. Hence, they start learning Spanish while they are in Barcelona but sometimes, when they leave the city, they often find it difficult to continue learning in the same way.

Cloud-coaching is learning and being coached on the cloud, online and remotely without missing the human side of having the help, the support and the guidance of a professional teacher who cares about you and who is closer than ever even from the distance. No matter how you want to learn Spanish with us; through one to one lessons or through an online course with live weekly lectures included; with us you will always have the support of a real person who helps you, guides you and supports you all the way. In other words, cloud-coaching is being online but not alone.

How it happened?

I studied Spanish and English linguistics so College gave me a comprehensive knowledge about Spanish language and its grammar plus I specialised in teaching Spanish to foreigners after finishing my bachelor’s degree but before I became a linguist I had the opportunity of living abroad thanks to a scholarship. I fell in love with Ireland and the people so I ended up living in Dublin for a few years. It was there that I truly learnt as a student the importance of being coached through the right path and having the help and support of a professional teacher who cares about the student’s needs and progression. It was there where I knew what type of teacher I wanted to become.

Once I was established as a teacher in Barcelona, I started having many requests from students who left Barcelona and wanted to continue what they started here but couldn’t. Hence, it’s how Speak Spanish Cloud Online School was born.

In the beginning I started by myself in this project and I was the only one teaching in Speak Spanish Cloud but now I have the support and help of two more qualified teachers that collaborate with me and they are as passionate and experienced as I am.

What to do to start learning Spanish?

We know how difficult it is sometimes to start a new thing in a new place and that is why in Speak Spanish Cloud you can request a meeting on zoom before to enrol in one of our courses or to book a pack of lessons with us so you can know us personally before deciding what would you like to do.
